A few times a year, we’re able to champion our energy and resources into benefits for Austin’s finest outreach programs and nonprofits. This April, we’re thrilled to host another of these shindigs: a jazz concert of the highest caliber featuring the Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Band, with all proceeds benefiting All Saints’ Episcopal Church‘s outreach ministry to struggling and homeless folks, Loaves and Fishes. Produced by the same team as Unplugged on The Front Porch, the event will feature the exquisite acoustics of the sanctuary at All Saints’, as well as professional sound engineering and lighting. Come out, help us raise dough for a great organization, and fell the sanctuary swing on April 13th with The Huston-Tillotson Jazz Band.
About Loaves and Fishes:
All Saints’ most in-your-face outreach program, Loaves and Fishes invites folks on hard times to line up at the church’s doors every Tuesday morning, where they are greeted with homemade breakfast tacos, conversation, prayer, and often medical care and direct financial assistance. Join us in helping this amazing group of individuals continue to support and heal the underserved in Austin.
From the All Saints’ website:
“All of us who have personal contact with the clients gain more than they when we observe the strength, perseverance and faith many of them exhibit in handling the difficulties of their lives. ”
About The Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Band:
Led by award-winning trombonist and co-founder of JazzBoneZ, Dr. Javier Stuppard, The Huston-Tillotson University Jazz Band continues to both preserve “the long and successful history” of jazz ensembles at the school and provide a stable springboard for our city’s younger talents to bust their improvisation chops and learn the ropes of America’s music.
